100 Acre Wood Rally America shoot
We love fast things… Four of the Rage crew ventured out to Salem, Missouri to document the fast paced action of the second stage of Rally America’s national competition. The cars were fast, the dust was relentless and the shots are amazing. Check out the highlight reel from the shoot. We’re excited to do it all again in our home state of Oregon the first weekend in May.
What’s Your Central Oregon
This project was one of the Rage team’s favorite of the year. The concept was exciting and new, and it allowed the entire team to get creative with not only the potential shot list but also with set design and props. We filmed this over the course of a week, organizing several outdoor activities and locations. Filming from a high vantage point proved challenging at times, but again, the team always loves a challenge.
The indoor scenes with the little girl were filmed during the day with the windows of the home covered in black plastic to block out the sunlight. We then collected, borrowed and purchased antique props for the cupboard and had to place small lights throughout the cupboard to highlight different elements within the shelf. The downside of these tiny lights was that they automatically turned off after about 10 minutes. So, throughout the day we had to watch for lights that had gone out and continually turn them back on again.
The talent did fantastic. It took a lot of red vines licorice and other sweets to keep her going but she was a real trooper and we captured some really magical shots with her expressions and voice. We shot an alternate ending with the talent actually saying the tag line, “what’s your Central Oregon.” But we ended up going with the text end card instead.
We edited together a longer web version and a shorter TV version. Below is the longer version.
Pacific Source
All three of these Pacific Source spots were shot in one VERY long day.
The “Bike” spot was the last shoot of the day and we started to lose daylight shortly after we began filming. And to make matters worse, a thunderstorm blew in, threatening rain, wind and dark clouds. We were lucky enough to get a few takes in before the light was completely lost behind the clouds and we edited the finished spot using those first few shots. The talent was great on all three spots and very patient, enduring long waits while we prepped the set design and props. A special thanks to Mona, our stylist who also volunteered her cruiser bike, which turned out to be the most uncomfortable cruiser bike any of us has ever ridden.
This project was a lot of fun and we were able to accomplish quite a lot in a short amount of time, due in part to excellent Pre-Production planning.
Linfield – Advisor
The Rage team spent a full day shooting this video for Linfield’s latest web marketing campaign. We battled rain, locations that were unavailable at the last minute and lack of sleep but what you see is only a fraction of the shots we filmed. The video turned out great and the talent was wonderful to work with.
Linfield – Nightmare
Linfield College in McMinnville Oregon wanted to do something bold and outside-the-box with their new campaign. With a little creative prowess at Mandala Agency, they developed this powerful TV ad.
This film production required the entire crew to be in Portland for a week, where we filmed at locations in and around the college and in downtown Portland. The long shoot days were well worth it with a finished product like this.

St. Charles Cancer Center
We were fortunate enough to get to work with some more strong cancer survivors. These strong women showed up on an unseasonably cold afternoon to represent St. Charles Cancer Center. It’s inspiring and a privilege to get to work with these ladies. And of course we love working with the crew from DVA Advertising: Gary, Nick and Mary.
Daisy Chain invasion
The Mandala Agency and South Valley Bank brought us on to put together this heart felt spot. Bella Mezzetta an eight-year-old future acting star stole the show. She also happens to be a child scissor savant… she’s going to have to decide between a career in scrapbooking or acting.
Cessna Videos are LIVE!
Who doesn’t dream of owning their own private jet…or single piston plane? Cessna makes dreams come true. Just wrapped a grueling edit session putting together two new videos: one for DirectControl and one for the new Corvalis TTx. The high-flying footage that makes us all want to blow our retirement funds on a new planes. The coolest thing was the stamina of our kick-ass clients at The Mandala Agency…hanging in the edit suite until 3:30am multiple nights in a row…rockstars!
